Thank you once again for your interest in waddiwasi. After reviewing both applications for Bellatrix (and allowing our Rodolphus player have a read of them, too) we have decided to go with the other application. It was a very, very hard decision between the pair of you, so please don't get discouraged because your Bellatrix is amazing, too. Hi! I just finished reading your application and am pleased to say that Remus is accepted. However, I do agree that your first icon choice just doesn't quite fit Remus; his face is a bit too fat and reminds me of Peter instead. The second one seems a bit too young, especially when placed up against the other PB's. The third one is fine, but if you'd prefer someone else as opposed to him, just toss the picture my way and I'll take a quick look! A little different than his friends he keeps the emotions of others in his thoughts and always aims to treat people with respect rather than act thoughtlessly, which, though he loves them, his fellow marauders are prone to doing. He likes to view life seriously, but he is still capable of having fun and letting himself go. With the reputation of being a quiet soul his inner strength is sometimes overlooked and his abilities are underestimated. He can handle painful truths, he can overcome problems, but as he is quite meek and romantic sounding, people tend to brush over this quality. Always the one to shake his head but never speak up in school, Remus is gradually finding a larger voice (but not a louder one). Having joined the Order he's tentatively putting forward his opinion in a bid to help and it is actually being listened to. Remus makes a point to have friends outside the circle of marauders and also outside of the wizarding world. It's just healthy to have different perspectives and a wider view of situations. His relationships with his friends vary in nature and strength. He knows those he can trust and those he should keep things from, but he has a habit of overlooking his friends' bad points so as to save arguments. He's not open with affection, but that's only because of the people he's been around. They were all in favour of being "men" by wrestling or taking the piss to bond with each other, but whilst Remus does participate in that to a certain degree, he can be spontaneous in the way of a hug of reassurance when you least expect it, or a pat on the arm. That's his core nature, the affectionate soul of him which his logical and brainy exterior masks. Because he has a mediating nature, he's often sought out as counsellor and the voice of reason. Being level headed and quite practical he likes to think with logic and believes his head rules his heart - but it is in fact he opposite way around. Emotion moves him more than he'd like to think and he can act on impulse when necessary. However, he'd put this down to "instinct" rather than any irrational action. Achievements: He was made Prefect of his year. Co-created the Marauder's Map. Joined the Order (he believes that's very special). Hobbies: Reading, watching Quidditch, playing violin/piano, singing to himself, writing, drawing, spending time with the marauders Sexuality: Straight. He's well aware of others and their "alternatives" but he's only dated girls and he can't imagine doing anything else. Boggart: The moon Patronus: Owl History (at least 3-4 solid paragraphs): Born to a muggle mother and a wizard father, Remus was brought up half in the muggle world and half in the wizarding, and as such he had a pretty balanced view of each and how they worked together. He loved everything muggle that his mother did, and appreciated everything magical that his father liked. He was aware of the politics occuring in both worlds and enjoyed the benefits of living a life on the middle line. During his younger years he had a close relationship with his grandmother who was intent on giving him a good education. Her dreams were of Oxford, Cambridge, PHD's... but as soon as Remus realised his magical abilities at aged four, he began preparing for Hogwarts and even packed a trunk ready. His whole future was placed in doubt however when Remus was bitten by Fenrir Greyback aged around six years old. It was a shock to his parents and they desperately attempted to cure him with every matter of magic they could think of, even human remedies for animal bites but there was nothing to be done. Much to his family's dismay Remus was now a werewolf and his days were full of precautions, security measures, doubts and furtive looks for next few years. Endless hours in spacious yet secure rooms. Home schooling. Not being allowed to play with the children in his street "just in case"... His parents became slightly overprotective and despite meaning well Remus felt smothered. Surprisingly enough it was up to his normally strict grandmother to talk sense into them. Having thought she would disown him knowing his condition, Remus was grateful to his grandmother for giving him a better lease of life. "Enough was enough" she said, and he was allowed to re-attend school under her doing, he was allowed out with friends - gradually Remus began to get his life back and form some sort of childhood, his dream of attending Hogwarts resurfacing and coming to fruition the day of his 11th birthday. He'd never forget that day... He actually danced on the table and did mock-wolf howls. When he started at Hogwarts he was well aware that he was a bit different for several reasons. Not everyone understood why he loved muggle things. Tennis, operas, pictures that didn't move.... he didn't expect people to actually share such interests because half of them didn't even know what it was and most of them didn't see the appeal in the first place. But this wasn't what concerned him. It was hard to be yourself when you were hiding a secret as big as his. Though Dumbledore had gone to great lengths to accommodate him he found it impossible to confess to friends about what he really was. He'd formed close bonds in particular with James, Sirius and Peter yet there was still no way he would risk revealing his "moonlight malady". But of course, spending 24 hours a day with them alerted them to something being wrong, and eventually it clicked.... He was never able to express how much he appreciated his friends and their endeavours when they discovered Remus was a werewolf. They went against the rules and, despite that not exactly being a rare occurance, it meant that they also spent hours trying to perfect being an animagus just so he had company in the full moon. Their level of dedication just for him - a silly, quiet boy who liked to play violin and went furry once a month - touched him more than they'd ever know. He attempted to show it to them in various ways, one way being that when he was made Prefect he casually overlooked the majority of their mischief, but he never thought he'd be able to repay them. HISTORY CNT'D - His blind eye concerning his friends eventually turned against him. In sixth year, uner the full moon, Sirius played a dangerous joke on Severus Snape. Not being the biggest fan of the Slytherin, Remus had let the teasing pass but now Sirius had gone too far. Thanks to James it was not as big a catasrophe as it could have been but Remus was still mortified and outraged. He promised himself he'd never forgive Sirius for pushing Snape to be a victim, for essentially using Remus as the animal he hated becoming. Nobody deserved to be lured into the Shrieking Shack on full moon, even Snape, and when Remus found out what had happened he didn't speak to Sirius for a whole month. Despite his intentions not to forgive his friend for his foolish prank, Remus did eventually see it for what it was - foolish. It was a lesson Sirius clearly had to learn and though their friendship suffered for a while Remus has put the past behind them, forgetting all about it. Nothing was worth losing Sirius over, especially in a time of growing darkness and talk of war. As soon as Remus graduated Hogwarts there was no other direction he'd consider apart from joining the Order. He attempted to get a job at the Ministry many times but was unsuccessful due to his "condition". Journal Sample: This heatwave will be the death of me. Not only is it forecast to be a high temperature at the full moon but my mother wishes to take me for a game of tennis. I know we used to go and see Wimbledon at this point every year, but really what with my duties elsewhere I can't go.... it's a break in tradition. One I don't think she will like. In other news, I think my owl is turning into a magpie. In the last three days he has brought me two rings, one gold chain and a locket. I think somehow he realises I have fallen on hard times, what with my unemployability and all... I mean I haven't exactly got a world of wealth behind me and though mum and dad said they'd help out I'd like to at least try and be self sufficient. Says the boy who is sat outside attempting to do a crossword in the same t-shirt he's had for five years.... RP Sample: Remus was never one to take a task lightly: if a job was worth doing it was worth doing properly, and he certainly seemed to think his new assignment was important. He gave an almighty huff as he dropped a stack of old, leather-bound books of various sizes onto his desk. Choking in the cloud of dust which rose from the pages he then sat down in preparation of the long hours of research. Research was key to a few things. Assignments from the Order which required preparation, life-changing decisions based on historical fact, use of ancient spells without being sure of their effects..... but Remus was not doing research for any of this. He was doing it for pure pleasure. He laughed at the vision of his friends' faces if they realised what he was doing. No doubt their expressions would be of utmost disgust and proclaim he needed to go to St Mungo's but if he was to write an accurate account of being a werewolf he'd need all the history, and whilst he trusted his memory he still wanted to be sure of all the facts before he began to write. Writing which didn't involve his door practically being broken down as someone suddenly demanded to be let inside.... (Reply to this)

Your journal entry, and you're absolutely correct that it is in third person. It's been years since I've been in English classes. What I meant was third person with the narrative sections being past tense? Does that make sense? That's how we typically write here. Hello! I've just finished reading your application and do like it. However, there is one small suggestion that I would like for you to take into consideration, please. The last paragraph, where it details how McGonagall was friends and crushed on Tom Riddle - are you willing to alter that? Dumbledore is quite a few years older than her, after all, and Riddle said he never had friends, just people whom he used. (Reply to this) (Parent)
